The CWA and PIW met both Thursday, January 11, 2018 and Friday, January 12, 2018. In the opening session the Union and the Company had extensive conversation regarding recent safety issues that have occurred at PIW within the last month. CWA reiterated to PIW that safety for our members is still a concern. The Union reviewed the OSHA findings with PIW to make sure changes that would prevent safety issues were applied. The Union also talked to PIW about implementing additional safety protocol for our members. There was extensive discussion regarding workplace respect and staffing ratio’s. Language proposals were exchanged between both parties. PIW presented CWA a proposal to address clinical concerns with our members.
The two sides are expected to meet again on Monday, February 5th and Tuesday, February 6th , 2018. While no agreement between CWA and PIW has been reached CWA is still working to resolve issues and come to a fair agreement.
