CWA-PIW Bargaining Report 17

The CWA and PIW met today, Tuesday, December 5, 2017. In the opening session the Union and the Company had extensive conversation regarding previous information that was requested by the Union. The Union gained great clarity on established “job categories” throughout the Hospital and how members are statused. The Union also questioned the Hospitals proposal on “inclement weather” along with identifying essential personnel. The Union also addressed with the Hospital, eleven workplace items that you have brought to us throughout this bargaining process.  There was extensive discussion regarding workplace respect and staffing ratio’s.

In the afternoon session the Union was able to sit down and address the Hospital’s CEO Dania O’Conner, with the eleven issues that we had discussed with PIW’s bargaining team.  There was very good interactive and productive conversation that came out of today’s session and for future sessions. The Union and the Hospital have tentative dates to meet after the New Year.
