The Union Bargaining Committee and the Company met the last two days and talks are scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. Discussions the past two days have centered on pension issues, health care plans and rates, OT administration, vacation allowances, telephone concessions, holidays. A great amount of time has also been spent on group life insurance and all of the ways the plan policy sent to the Membership is in direct contradiction of our CBA.
Tomorrow, we will address many problems in the Sickness and Disability administration plan. The company continues to push for givebacks and concessions while offering nothing positive for the Membership. The time to get involved is now! Find your Rep and ask what you can do to get involved. This is YOUR contract and you all need to send a message to the company that nothing less than a fair contract is acceptable.
